PD-YAY. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce pranced around New York City hand-in-hand this past weekend. The pair dined lavishly throughout town; they also both made surprise, but separate, cameos on Saturday Night Live. At the show’s afterparty, insiders reported that the Ts were kissing throughout the course of the night. Travis kept his hand situated on Taylor’s waist during the soiree. Catching the ball is one thing… catching our girl just brought Travis Kelce to an entirely new playing field.
A somber season’s start. After five months off-air, Saturday Night Live came back with a bang. The show opened on host, Pete Davidson, staring into the camera, addressing the topic currently weighing heavy on everyone’s mind — the war between Israel and Hamas. He started his monologue with “and I know what you’re thinking, who better to comment on it than Pete Davidson.” This self-deprecating opening served to lighten the mood every so slightly. He then went on to explain how his personal experience (his father was killed in a terrorist attack) made him fit to discuss the seriousness and complexity of the issue. Pete delved into an anecdote about how comedy served as a coping mechanism for him during his struggle, and how he hoped it would do the same in this instance. The studio audience and social media received Pete’s monologue extremely well — I guess Davidson really is deeper than just his BDE.
Slapping ourselves silly. In a preview of a Dateline interview, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that she and Will Smith have been separated since 2016. According to an article published by The Cut, they are still married, but haven’t been romantically involved for the past seven years. The news surfaced the same day Jada’s memoir Worthy, debuted. In a subsequent interview on the Today show, however, Jada clarified that she and Will are in the process of trying to reconcile. Whatever the case, I’m genuinely shocked the couple kept the secret safe from the internet sleuths for SEVEN WHOLE YEARS! They should win an Oscar… oh wait.
Woah baby, no baby. Ahead of the release of her memoir, The Woman In Me, Britney Spears revealed she had an abortion twenty years ago when she was pregnant with Justin Timberlake’s child. According to the princess of pop, Justin “wasn’t ready to have a baby” because they were “way too young.” The former NSYNC star has definitely received heat in recent years for sl*t-shaming Britney. I think he’s bound to get his comeuppance one day though. Pro tip: take a look at the “Justin Timberlake is the worst” Reddit thread if you ever need a good laugh. P.S. how cute would a lil’ baby decked out in denim have been?!
The girls are girl-ing. Actress, Sophia Bush, and two-time soccer champion, Ashlyn Harris, are reportedly dating. They were both previously married and divorced as of August and September, respectively.
Marriage is dead, ya heard?! Maren Morris filed for divorce from husband, Ryan Hurd, after fives years, due to “irreconcilable differences” (sound familiar… *ahem* Joe and Sophie *ahem*). This came as a shock to many. Just one month ago, Hurd publicly supported his then-wife’s decision to abandon country music, stating “she deserves to be celebrated, not just tolerated… love you, MM.” As a recent country convert myself, it’s a bummer to see this seemingly sweet couple separate.
Billie Eilish reveals a massive back tattoo that looks like a third grade art project. In an Instagram photo dump, BE showed off her latest and greatest tattoo covering the length of her back. It’s really… something. Watch out Ben Affleck, you have some competition ‘back’ there (sorry, had to).
